Main Character analysis Blog Post

The main character of Paranoia would be described as the hero character but does not exactly fit into the mold perfectly. She does lead the narrative and is searching to defeat the villain to restore equilibrium in her life but she does not have a set goal or prize to win like most heroes do. My main character is young with big curly hair who is unorganized and often fatigued. She wears dark clothing that covers her body, representing her tiredness and dark mental state. The props associated with my main character are her cell phone and medication. She is a quiet type of person who does not let other people in on her struggles. She is reclusive and has a passive communication style. My main character seems to be trying to reach stability in her mental state to get rid of her intense feelings of paranoia. Due to her condition of schizophrenia, she is very paranoid and suffers from delusions and hallucinations which leaves her in an unstable mental space.

Representation Blog Post

Within my film I will be representing women with schizophrenia and people who have had to deal with stalkers in their lifetime. About eight percent of women and two percent of men have reported being stalked in their lifetime. According to the National institute of Health only about 1 to every 1.4 males report having schizophrenia. There is a stereotype that  people with schizophrenia are violent, dangerous, and cannot manage their actions or emotions. In my film I will be counteracting those stereotypes by showing a young woman who has schizophrenia and lives a somewhat normal life with a daily routine. A stereotype I will be using is that most stalkers are men, quiet, and wears dark clothing. I will be using this stereotype to create my character and show the audience that it is a classic stalker. To improve my characters and portray my main character with schizophrenia correctly I will do research on schizophrenia and its symptoms. Ensuring to show the experience some peop...

Costuming Blog Post

Image
Summer Watkins  Black long-sleeved shirt with gray sweatpants, long black and grey socks, and dark under-eyes  The clothing that the main character Summer is wearing is dark and dull. The dark greyscale and concealing clothes show her dark mental state  The relaxed clothes can represent her depression and how she just woke up from her sleep.  The makeup I will use is black eyeliner that will be buffed or smudged to make the character look sleep-deprived.                                                                 The Stalker                                                                            ...

Preparing to Film Blog Post

Actors Vivian Boyd (Myself) will be the main character playing the Main Character Summer Watkins  My stepfather Tyler Erel will play the main antagonist The stalker My Father will play the MailMan side character Costuming  The timing takes place in modern times so the clothing and costumes are relaxed and modern. Most of the costuming are clothes that we have already purchased and wear every day.  One of my family members is a Mailman and will provide the mailman costume. The only costume part we need to purchase is a dark Ski mask to cover the stalker's face which is very accessible and easy to purchase.  Props The props used in my film are all common items found inside a home that do not cost anything or need to be purchased. Locations  Originally the film was going to be shot inside of my home however we decided to film at my aunt's house because of its darker atmosphere and no one would be home during the filming so we would have no disruptions.  ...
